Your appointment is now secured with your chosen artist. You’ll receive a confirmation text shortly, plus a reminder 4 days before your session.
Please read through the below so everything runs smooth on the day.
HOW OUR STUDIO WORKS
All resident and guest artists at Hoochimama operate independently. They rent space within the studio and are fully responsible for their own work, pricing, bookings, and payments.
This means: – Your artist manages your booking directly
– All payments are handled by your artist (or via the studio on their behalf)
– Any questions, changes, or design discussions should go straight to them
We’re here to support the space — your artist is your go-to for everything tattoo-related.
STRICTLY 18+
We are a strictly 18+ tattoo studio. No exceptions.
Even though WA law allows tattooing minors with parental consent, we do not tattoo anyone under 18 under any circumstances.
Please bring valid photo ID to your appointment.
PREPARING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT
A little prep goes a long way:
– Please DO NOT shave the area
– Avoid sunburn or damaged skin
– Moisturise the area daily for at least a week beforehand
– Get a good night’s sleep
– Eat a solid meal before your session
– Stay hydrated
Please do not arrive intoxicated or hungover — your appointment may be cancelled and deposit forfeited.
We ask that you DO NOT use numbing cream unless your artist has approved it beforehand. It can affect how the skin takes ink and heals. Your artist may use numbing products during the session if needed.
PAYMENT
Payment is made directly to your artist or through the studio system.
– Card payments available (1.4% surcharge applies)
– Some artists accept cash or bank transfer
– We recommend bringing a little extra in case your session runs longer or you decide to add to your design
Deposits: – All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE
– Deposits come off the final tattoo price
– Deposits secure your appointment time, not a specific design
Rescheduling with enough notice may allow your deposit to be transferred — this is at your artist’s discretion.
DESIGN PROCESS
Every artist works differently, but most will prepare designs close to your appointment date.
Please trust the process and avoid chasing your artist for early previews — they’re usually working through multiple clients at once.
Small adjustments can be made on the day. However:
– Major changes to design, size, or placement may result in cancellation
– Turning up with a completely different idea will likely forfeit your appointment and deposit
Respect your artist’s time and preparation.
APPOINTMENT ETIQUETTE
– Please arrive on time
– Late arrivals may result in reduced tattoo time or cancellation
– If you’re running late, call the studio ASAP
– Rescheduling requires at least 4 days’ notice
No-shows or last-minute cancellations will result in loss of deposit.
You’re welcome to bring one support person if needed, but space is limited — check with your artist first.
HEALTH & SAFETY
For your safety, please inform your artist if you:
– Are pregnant
– Have any medical conditions
– Are taking blood thinners or medication
– Have skin conditions or allergies
If you are unwell (cold/flu symptoms), please reschedule. We’d rather tattoo you at your best.
AFTERCARE
Your artist will provide specific aftercare instructions — follow them closely.
Healing is your responsibility. Good aftercare = good results.
Touch-ups (if needed) are handled by your artist and may vary depending on the situation.
GUEST ARTISTS
Booking with a guest artist is a special opportunity — here’s what to keep in mind:
– Guest artists may not be available for touch-ups once they leave
– Some may have limited English — clear communication helps a lot
– Large-scale or multi-session pieces should be planned carefully within their stay
Please respect their time and schedule — many are booked solid while visiting.
APPOINTMENT ETIQUETTE
– Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to your appointment. This gives you time to settle in, complete any prep, and make small adjustments before we begin.
– Your artist will likely have other clients booked after you, so arriving on time (or early) helps keep the day running smoothly for everyone.

– If you’re running late, call the studio ASAP
